Reproduction

Conservation Status

Kangaroos are considered a species of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). They are protected in Australia and are not considered to be at risk of extinction. However, some species of kangaroos, such as the red kangaroo, are still hunted for their meat and skins. Possums, on the other hand, face more threats to their survival. Some species of possums are considered endangered or vulnerable due to habitat loss, predation by introduced species, and disease. Conservation efforts are underway to protect possum populations and their habitats.
