History

The Imperial Remnant was formed after the defeat of the Galactic Empire at the Battle of Jakku. It consisted of the remaining Imperial forces that retreated to the Unknown Regions. Led by various warlords and admirals, the Imperial Remnant sought to maintain control over certain sectors of the galaxy. On the other hand, the New Republic was established after the fall of the Empire, with the goal of restoring democracy and peace to the galaxy. It was formed by former Rebel Alliance leaders and supported by various systems that had been oppressed by the Empire.

Leadership

The Imperial Remnant was initially led by Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, who took over after the death of Emperor Palpatine. Sloane was a ruthless leader who sought to maintain the Empire's authoritarian rule. In contrast, the New Republic was led by Chancellor Mon Mothma, a former leader of the Rebel Alliance. Mothma was known for her diplomatic skills and commitment to democracy. She worked to unite the various systems under the New Republic banner.

Military

The Imperial Remnant had a formidable military force, consisting of Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, and stormtroopers. They were well-trained and disciplined, with a focus on maintaining control through fear and intimidation. The New Republic, on the other hand, had a smaller military but one that was more focused on defense and peacekeeping. They relied on a combination of starfighters and ground troops to protect their territories and enforce the rule of law.

Government

The Imperial Remnant operated as a dictatorship, with power centralized in the hands of the ruling warlords and admirals. There was little room for dissent or opposition within the Imperial hierarchy. In contrast, the New Republic operated as a democratic government, with a Senate that represented the various member systems. Relations with the Jedi

The Imperial Remnant viewed the Jedi as a threat to their authority, due to their connection to the Force and their history of opposing the Sith. They actively hunted down any remaining Jedi in an effort to eliminate them as a potential threat. The New Republic, on the other hand, had a more positive relationship with the Jedi. They saw them as protectors of peace and justice, and many Jedi served as advisors and peacekeepers within the New Republic government.

Goals and Ideals

The Imperial Remnant sought to restore the glory of the Galactic Empire and maintain control over the galaxy through force and fear. They believed in the superiority of humans over other species and sought to impose their will on the galaxy. The New Republic, on the other hand, sought to create a galaxy where all species and systems could coexist in peace and prosperity. They believed in the principles of democracy, freedom, and equality for all beings.

Legacy

The Imperial Remnant eventually faded into obscurity as the galaxy moved on from the legacy of the Empire. Some remnants of the Imperial forces joined the First Order, a new authoritarian regime that sought to continue the Empire's goals. The New Republic, on the other hand, continued to grow and evolve, eventually becoming the Resistance, a group dedicated to fighting against the tyranny of the First Order and restoring peace to the galaxy.
