Caporegimes, also known as captains, are responsible for overseeing a crew of soldiers within a Mafia family. They act as intermediaries between the boss and the soldiers, ensuring that orders are carried out efficiently. Caporegimes are in charge of making important decisions within their crew, such as who to recruit, promote, or discipline. On the other hand, soldatos are the foot soldiers of the Mafia family. They carry out the orders given to them by their caporegime and are responsible for executing tasks such as collecting money, enforcing rules, and carrying out hits.

Authority

Caporegimes have more authority within the Mafia family compared to soldatos. They have the power to make decisions that affect their crew and are often consulted by the boss on important matters. Caporegimes are also responsible for mediating disputes between soldiers and ensuring that their crew operates smoothly. Soldatos, on the other hand, have less authority and are expected to follow orders without question. They must show loyalty and obedience to their caporegime and the boss in order to advance within the family.

Income

Caporegimes typically earn more money than soldatos within the Mafia family. They receive a percentage of the profits generated by their crew's illegal activities, such as gambling, extortion, and drug trafficking. Caporegimes also have the opportunity to earn additional income through kickbacks and other forms of corruption. Soldatos, on the other hand, receive a salary for their work but do not have the same earning potential as caporegimes. They may also receive bonuses for completing tasks successfully, but their income is generally lower than that of a caporegime.

Respect

Caporegimes are respected within the Mafia family for their leadership skills, decision-making abilities, and loyalty to the boss. Soldatos, on the other hand, face less risk as they are not in a leadership position and are not held accountable for the actions of the crew. They are expected to follow orders and carry out tasks without questioning the motives behind them.

Advancement

Caporegimes have the opportunity for advancement within the Mafia family by proving their loyalty, leadership skills, and ability to generate profits for the boss. They may be promoted to underboss or consigliere if they demonstrate their value to the family. Caporegimes can also expand their crew and increase their influence within the organization. Soldatos, on the other hand, have limited opportunities for advancement unless they are able to distinguish themselves through exceptional performance or loyalty.
